PreTI

PreTI is an authoring tool that implements a different approach to input of structured documents. It is based on assumptions that:

  • a written document conveys information about its structure by means of the human language;

  • the role of markup is to follow the document's structure, not to define it;

  • the tags are for computers; no one would read a text marked in DocBook, instead of a plain flow of words, sentences, and paragraphs, just to understand it.

An outcome of this project will be a set of authoring and editing tools.

I have removed links to the distribution of the initial implementation of PreTI (for jEdit). My ideas have evolved, and I hope to show a different and convincing solution, when it is ready, instead of keeping a partial one.
